Get to know Michelle...
Before embarking on a career in broadcast journalism, Michelle attended Loyola University in New Orleans where she fostered her passion for journalism while working and interning for the local CBS affiliate,
WWL-TV. Also while attending Loyola, Michelle created a digital web series called "Eye on the Pack" which highlighted the achievements of athletes, sports teams and coaches in the college community. She worked for the Loyola Maroon, an award-winning,
student-run newspaper. In her three years with the Maroon, Michelle spent time as the sports editor and digital editor. Upon graduation, Michelle was the recipient of the A. Louis Reed Outstanding Electronic Media Student award. Her career began in San Diego, where she worked as a multimedia reporter for the San Diego Union Tribune as well as their cable affiliate, UT-TV. Michelle was a reporter and fill-in anchor, working daily with tribune beat writers to deliver topical stories as well as human interest pieces with a focus on the San Diego Padres and San Diego state football and basketball. From there, Michelle moved to Tampa Bay to pursue a job as the hockey reporter for the Tampa Bay Lightning. In this role, Michelle interacted daily with coaches, players and personnel to craft stories, interviews and content for TampaBayLightning.com and in-game arena. Simultaniously, she was the sideline hockey reporter on the Fox Sports Florida broadcast where she conducted live pre and post game interviews with players and coaches as well as reported on current events in the community that surrounded the team and organization. After three years in Tampa, Michelle decided to pursue other freelance opportunities in New York City and is currently covering the college football sidelines for beIN Sports Network. Other freelance work has included hosting and reporting roles for Yahoo Sports, The New Jersey Devils, NCAA Womens Baskeball Final Four, One Up Sports Media Group and Rivals.com
